She had been sitting there, cold and perturbed. Her eyes had bugs under them, suggesting that she had not caught any sleep that night. She had been staring on the ground, with her pupils dilated. It was clear to see that her mind had been wandering in only places that she knew best. Having seen and ignored her for a whole thirty minutes, a policewoman walked up to her from the reception desk. As far as she was concerned, the strange woman could have been a psychopath, or a suicide bomber sent on a mission to take the whole department down. And Alicia was not going to take any chances.
“Ma’am, how can I help you?” Alicia asked in a tone that was enough to drive the frail woman
back to reality.
"Uhm, what?” she responded, having not heard what this policewoman was saying to her.
"I asked, how can I help you, ma’am?” Alicia was patient enough, so she repeated her question.
“They took him. Finally, they came for him and went away with him,” the woman began to weep.
Alicia was confused, for she didn't understand what this woman was saying, “Ma’am, who took whom?"
They were like four robots, but I could tell that they were people from how they spoke. Their speed was like that of a deer. They had large drones, and those were what they used to fly away with. They knocked me down in our apartment before they left. They also left me a note," the woman said as she kept quiet to catch a breath.
“What is your name?”
“Julia Day.”
